WebJan 21, 2012 · I would recommend a normal drive and let cool for 5 minutes; then crack the overfill ( reservoir) bottle's cap; not the rad. cap -- it's too dangerous to do it here. Note: loosen the cap with a partial turn, but not completely here, because it can erupt hot coolant back at you. Keep doing this procedure until air is no longer purged.
