WebSep 14, 2010 · Big4door. I ran a 427 for last 10 years. It was a 3.76 427 crank in a 1981 454 block and ran mid 10s with oval port heads and 680 258/268 @050 solid roller at 3500lbs. In a light car with a 5000 stall and a deep gear it will run really good, as good as a 454 and it will be more of a indestructable combo.
